Remote Control Mining Vehicles

This project involved the creation of a 4 board set based on the Motorola HC11 with CAN networked capabilities and running the Cheetah Monitor (See below). Each board has a specific function, RF, Analog, Relay and PWM. The operator console consisted of any number of these boards added together to create the functionality needed for the vehicle used. The vehicle also included the same boards, added in whatever configuration needed for that vehicle. Each board communicated via the CAN bus and downloading, testing and updates are all done through the Cheetah monitor software through one connection on the back of the vehicle. Specialty boards where also created to be embedded right into the transmission of one vehicle, also running the Cheetah monitor. These boards where designed in 1996 and are still be produced.
